TAG3 primarily specializes in cardiovascular, neurovascular, cerebrovascular, and structural heart devices. The company is also an original equipment manufacturer for endoscopic devices and is backed by a strong team of engineers equipped to handle all medical electrical device needs.

“We cover a broad spectrum of devices, and also design equipment for manufacturing processes and custom tests, such as fatigue testing and test fixtures for robotic knee replacement systems,” adds Arp, Founder and Director at TAG3. The company has also developed a special internal process for the controlled deposition of material onto any substrate to improve the deliverability of devices.

A typical client engagement at TAG3 begins with an idea, followed by the development of a complete project timeline, as well as the budget and resources. TAG3 houses the project in its ISO-certified, fully equipped 16,000-square feet facility and allocates dedicated resources to each project, including clean rooms, laboratories, and engineering teams.

To maintain transparency in operations, TAG3 sends monthly reports to clients and keeps them abreast of project developments. It provides full disclosure to its clients on all aspects of the project, including raw material expenses, breakdown of the deliverables, and budget estimation. Clients can also visit the TAG3 site, interact with the engineering team, and give direct feedback on prototypes.

TAG3 was approached by a company that had previously selected a popular contract design and development company. While the client’s product was in the 510(k)-submission stages, the contract design firm had yet to provide the cost details for manufacturing and fundraising. Eventually, the client sought TAG3’s support to complete the 510(k)- submission and take the product to the manufacturing stages.

TAG3 stepped in and completed a full design verification, redesigned components that weren’t performing well, set up the manufacturing line, and manufactured the initial batch of products. To this day, TAG3 continues to manufacture products for the client.
