The company’s CEO remarks that they aim to find the greatest and brightest innovators at MedTech Innovator. After a narrowing process, a few startups are selected to join this year’s Asia Pacific programme. They hope to provide these businesses with the tailored mentorship they require, in collaboration with our sponsors, so that they can one day deliver their breakthrough to patients throughout the Asia Pacific area.
The global pandemic has accelerated the adoption of healthcare technologies in the Asia Pacific region. Startups are considered to be an important part of the medical technology ecosystem as they stimulate innovation and offer life-changing solutions to increase patient access and care standards. One of the major pillars of APACMed's mission is to nurture MedTech businesses.
Johnson & Johnson's company group chairman for Medical Devices Asia Pacific remarked that the 20 firms chosen for this year's MedTech Innovator Asia Pacific Accelerator would be working on essential advancements for patients in the Asia Pacific. Johnson & Johnson is happy to provide mentorship and experience to these entrepreneurs to assist them in addressing the region's unmet health care needs.
Over 500 entrepreneurs registered for the Asia Pacific programme, but only five from the 2021 cohort continued to the Grand Finals. The MedTech Forum, which will be attended by health care sector leaders, providers, and investors from around the area, will also feature solutions from the 20 Accelerator startups. The winning firm will receive a non-dilutive monetary reward as well as the title of 2021 MedTech Innovator Asia Pacific Winner, which will be selected by audience voting. Up to USD300,000 in cash prizes and accolades will be awarded to Accelerator businesses in total.
