PCT Parylene is USP Class VI Approved
Parylene is a thin, vacuum-deposited polymer. It varies from conventional coatings in that it is deposited on objects at room temperature as a film and does not employ solvents, catalysts, plasticizers, or other feature-improving additives. According to a high-purity raw material called di-paraxylylene, a white crystalline powder. A vacuum and thermal process convert the powder to a polymer film formed on substrates at room temperature.

Parylene coatings protect various medical devices and components, including stents, catheters, pacemakers, electrosurgical tools, epidural probes, mandrels, needles, and more. Medical devices employed in surgical procedures are electively coated with Parylene to enhance their lubricity and to provide selective electrical insulation.

Parylene’s optically clear coatings, like sharp edges and points, can conform to any shape. Parylene does not encourage the growth of biologics. Its surface is inappropriate for the proliferation of bacteria and other pathogens.
