Envisioning the future, the orthopedic sector is being upgraded with innovative technology to provide patients with better and improved surgeries.
FREMONT, CA: There is a massive ongoing demand for automation, deep learning, artificial intelligence, and robotics, and OrthoGrid Systems Inc. (OGS) has come up with fluoroscopy distortion when they introduced the Phantom MSK. The Phantom MSK has created a better and new standard to take care of the “procedure critical” imaging device. With the help of its deep learning software applications and technology, Phantom MSK, OGS is proud of creating a strong and disruptive IP portfolio for influencing the outcomes of surgeries.

OrthoGrid Systems’ PhantomMSK is a comprehensive software platform that can work with every manufacturer devices across several procedures to help out during implant, instrument, and anatomic alignment where they use. This is the only intraoperative alignment technology available that is used for rectifying the incidents of image distortion in orthopedic surgery because of external electromagnetic interference and the mapping of the planar image on a curved input phosphor, hence affecting image integrity and creating potential risks of malalignment.
According to Richard Boddington, co-Founder, and CEO of OGS, “The University of Utah has studied the phenomenon of distortion and found a mean deviation of 10 mm and a range of 2 to 19 mm caused by distortion. This is a direct cause of impacting patient leg length discrepancy. When planning to restore leg length, it is not the mean that matters; it is the risk of an event happening on the higher end of the range.”
He further added, “at OrthoGrid System (OGS), we created a technology integration platform with procedure-specific applications used to impact Intraoperative accuracy and proficiency that ultimately makes the outcome better for the patient.”
The Phantom MSK has the capability of robotic integration that will escalate the precision. OGS will create a significant impact on the value-based healthcare expectations of the industry with its single platform that can address several types of processes. The company OrthoGrid Systems Inc. was listed in Med Tech Outlook’s Top 10 MedTech Startups-2019.
Forecasting the future, OGS is also trying to introduce AI and XR into their platform that will provide more improved and better guidance to the surgeons.
