Surgical technology has progressed at a breathtaking pace in the last few decades, with innovations ranging from robotic surgery to even more delicate minimally invasive approaches. Today’s hospitals are not evaluating closure devices simply as routine surgical supplies. They are increasingly considering how closure methods influence operating room efficiency, recovery experiences, cosmetic outcomes and patient satisfaction. Faster closure can help reduce procedure times and improve operating room throughput, but speed alone is not enough if it leads to greater discomfort, visible scarring or additional follow-up care.
