Today, Robinson is a mental health advocate for the San Francisco Giants, helping others tap into a new possibility for treating depression with NeuroStar TMS.

Neuronetics’ FDA-cleared NeuroStar TMS is a revolutionary non-drug, non-invasive solution designed to treat patients suffering from depression without the systemic side effects of antidepressant medications. NeuroStar Advanced Therapy is proven to be successful. Its Outcomes Registry is the largest depression registry in the world. A reported 83-percent of patients responded favorably to an acute course of NeuroStar, and about 62-percent achieved complete remission.

NeuroStar utilizes magnetic pulses to stimulate areas of the brain that are underactive in depression and activates the natural functions of the brain’s neurotransmitters.

To derive optimal outcomes, the company developed a patented Contact Sensing technology that ensures the prescribed dosage is delivered correctly through the treatment coil placed over the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex of the patient. Throughout the treatment process, the patient is awake and alert and can resume regular activities immediately afterward.

Almost two decades into the business, and with more than 127,000 patients treated, Neuronetics has invested heavily in promoting awareness among physicians and patients about its best-in-class technology. To move the cause forward, the company is going full swing to increase access to care at practices utilizing NeuroStar nationwide. With the results from these tools, during Q4 of 2021, the company helped identify and save 68 patients who were in danger of harming themselves.

Neuronetics is dedicating all its marketing and social media campaigns to expand education and spread awareness for patients and physicians about NeuroStar. During the last year, Neuronetics increased awareness of TMS among patients with depression from 9 to about 14 percent. “With over 900 practices, we are looking to improve our awareness and education strategies and help get our technology to more patients,” says Sullivan.

Most recently, Neuronetics received FDA clearance for the NeuroStar Advanced Therapy system as an adjunct for treating adult patients suffering from Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
