From Early Experience to Radiology Leadership

My journey into radiology leadership began early in my career at a small hospital with limited resources, where providing quality care to our community often required us to “do whatever it took.” Having trained at a tertiary care facility, I was uniquely positioned to step into a leadership role and serve as a key resource for the team during a critical time. 

Throughout my career, I have continued to expand my knowledge and strengthen my leadership abilities. This commitment led me to earn both a Master’s in Healthcare Administration and a Master’s in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Together, these degrees have been instrumental in shaping my leadership approach, enhancing my operational effectiveness, and improving my ability to support both patients and healthcare teams.

I am fortunate to work with a highly skilled and dedicated radiology leadership team. Together, we collaborate daily—both within our department and with our healthcare partners—to ensure that patient care and service excellence remain at the forefront of every initiative we pursue.

Addressing Workforce Shortages and Aging Equipment Our current greatest challenges are the shortage of available imaging professionals, particularly radiologic technologists, and aging equipment. In our region, most educational programs are four-year bachelor’s degree programs, with very few associate degree pathways available to produce radiologic technologists.  

This limited pipeline has made recruitment and retention increasingly difficult as demand for imaging services continues to grow. Imaging equipment is also a significant capital investment.

I proudly take a transformational approach to leadership, focused on building bench strength and developing future leaders within our organization. 

I have tremendous appreciation for our radiology leadership team and their unwavering dedication to service excellence, collaboration, and delivering highquality patient care.
