The traditional manual approach to DNA/RNA extraction needs to be improved to avoid human error, variability, and contamination. It can also expose technicians to infectious pathogens, making the efficient processing of a large number of samples challenging.

This is where Genolution steps in. Its Nextractor range of systems for rapid isolation of DNA and RNA checks the boxes of time and cost-effectiveness, operatory safety, reproducibility, consistency, efficiency, and scalability.

Genolution offers three automated nucleic acid extraction systems; Nextractor NX-Jr, Nextractor NX-48N, and Nextractor NX-Duo.

The Nextractor NX-Jr is a compact system that can extract 1 to 8 samples within 15 minutes. Individual cartridge with user-adjustable elution volume provides flexibility and a four-inch touchscreen user interface with pre-programmed and customizable protocols. This system is designed for small-scale extractions and is ideal for labs with limited space.

Suitable for labs with moderate to high sample volumes, Nextractor NX-48N is a high throughput system that can, in about 15 to 25 minutes, simultaneously extract nucleic acid from up to 48 samples. Packed with all the features of the other models, it comes with a seven-inch touchscreen user interface with pre-programmed and user-defined protocols, requiring less manual intervention to operate.

A game changer for labs processing high volumes of samples, Nextractor NX-Duo is a high throughput system that can process 24 (for cfDNA extraction) to 96 (for typical DNA/RNA extraction) samples simultaneously within 15 to 30 minutes using a well plate type. It has safety features like UV sterilization, door sensors, and a six-inch touchscreen user interface with pre-programmed and customizable protocols. Changeable 24 unit and 96 unit heads can be easily done in NX-Duo.

In addition, Genolution manufactures its DNA extraction kits to ensure there is no mismatch between the extraction reagents and Nextractor instruments.

“This eliminates any potential issues that may arise from using reagents from different manufacturers, including compatibility issues or variations in quality,” says Minlee Kim, Ph.D., CTO at Genolution.

Genolution’s DNA extraction systems include all the necessary reagents and consumables required for high-quality nucleic acid extraction from wide range of specimen types. Each kit is provided in a pre-filled well plate or cartridge format, with options for single, eight, 24, 32, or 96 samples per plate or cartridge. This pre-filled format eliminates the need for manual pipetting, which can improve consistency and reduce the risk of contamination.

Unlike some of its competitors that do not bundle reagents with their extractors—forcing labs to seek third parties for reagents—Genolution offers the whole package for higher accuracy, speed, and convenience.
