ELITechGroup has grown through a number of strategic acquisitions and owns three distinct business units, including molecular diagnostics, clinical chemistry, and the microbiology biomedical business unit field. The unit’s primary product portfolio includes the Aerospray Stainers that are currently used by four different segments. In hematology, the stainers provide excellent staining results for any sample by subsequent analysis of the cell morphology so that doctors and pathologists can identify abnormalities in the cells. Similarly, the next Aerospray Stainer is a gram stainer that carries out gram-positive and -negative staining. The TB stainer helps in detecting tuberculosis, mycobacterium, and other microorganisms, whereas the Aerospray Cytology Stainer can stain all liquid-based cytology samples to help in the identification of various cancers and other cell abnormalities. What is more, the Aerospray Stainers are completely flexible and customizable systems that cater to each lab’s requirements. “These instruments are effective at providing accurate results in a customized format based on sample types and staining outputs,” says Bryce McEuen, MD and Business Unit Manager, Biomedical Systems, ELITechGroup.

ELITechGroup also offers osmometers such as vapor pressure and freezing point osmometers used by clinical, research, and pharmaceutical labs for quality control, diagnosis, and research. In fact, the vapor pressure osmometer was a huge success for the company that began selling globally and led to the development and innovation of a full line of cystic fibrosis diagnostic products. Now, the company offers a full range of products to diagnose cystic fibrosis right from sweat collection to analysis. “Our products have become the gold standard in the U.S. and around the world for conducting the diagnostic tests to determine cystic fibrosis,” says McEuen. Similarly, ELITechGroup also develops specialized Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR) to assess and analyze blood samples from patients for a variety of hematology disorders and inflammation.

McEuen cites the story of a recent implementation of ELITechgroup’s hematology stainer. The company’s team provided a full site demo on the equipment with lab training of all clinicians to the client. “We had customized the Aerospray Stainers based on client’s unique needs and they were able to run hundreds of samples through the system with satisfying results,” says McEuen. For other products, ELITechGroup’s applications team provided complete guidance over the phone to the lab technicians to customize the programs and settings according to their needs. The client further ran additional tests with outstanding results.

Based on the evolving needs of the market, ELITechGroup constantly reprioritizes its strategies. “An emerging field in the marketplace is a huge digital transformation taking place in the in vitro diagnostics market at the product and lab innovation level. In light of this, ELITechGroup is looking to identify ways to innovate our existing product portfolio as well as add new products either through product partnerships or acquisitions,” says McEuen.
