Unlike conventional sensors, Dymedix’s technology provides very linear waveforms from both thermal and pressure stimulus. The flexible and disposable nature of polarized PVDF film allows Dymedix to create innovative sensor applications for sleep diagnostic testing with improved safety, accuracy, and reliability. An important and unique value of using Dymedix airflow sensors is that physicians can get a more linear airflow pattern and faster response time in comparison to traditional thermocouple or thermistor technologies. The response time of a conventional thermal airflow sensor is generally 2-3 seconds, while the Dymedix airflow sensor has a response time of 5 milliseconds. The quick response time of Dymedix sensors helps in the detection of subtle airflow signals that might be missed by traditional thermistors.
