VIVO is a breakthrough in arrhythmia localization for electrophysiologists. Consisting of proprietary software, a 3D camera and single-use patches, it uses the patient’s MRI/ CT scan, a 3D image of their torso with ECG leads, and a standard 12-lead ECG to create a personalized 3D model of their heart. It then leverages advanced AI algorithms to pinpoint the exact arrhythmia spot on the heart image while displaying essential information, like its location within the epicardium, endocardium or septal wall.

VIVO’s technological advantages significantly improve a physician’s efficiency in locating the origin of an arrhythmia. Compared to conventional approaches, this technology reduces the time spent on arrhythmia localization and may lead to higher success rates.

Recent clinical trials have validated VIVO’s efficacy in simplifying the pre-procedural planning phase for ablation procedures that treat premature ventricular contractions (PVC) and ventricular tachycardia (VT). CPI is working toward integrating the latest AI technology to further enhance VIVO’s VT localization capabilities.

This will enable the mapping device to analyze various cardiac vectors, track the heart’s electrical velocity, and identify single or multiple VT areas—a crucial feature for complex cases involving multiple VT locations.

From a financial perspective, VIVO offers a strong value proposition. At less than $50,000, it is a cost-effective alternative to traditional catheter EP equipment and software solutions, mainly attributed to the shortened procedure duration. This helps hospitals mitigate reimbursement challenges and allows for a higher patient throughput. The Amigo system, is designed for easy use in the cath lab. It comprises a robotics arm that securely holds the catheter equipment. By emulating the functions of a manual catheter handle, it allows doctors to accurately manipulate the catheter, from four percutaneous holes near the groin to particular areas inside the heart. Doctors can operate the system from a separate room, away from the lab’s radiation exposure.

Amigo has proven its efficacy in over 2,000 successful ablation treatments and positive clinical trials. Primarily designed for EP, its open architecture allows for seamless adaptability to various types of catheters for operations other than cardiac arrhythmia ablation.

CPI strives to improve Amigo’s user experience. It is currently seeking additional funding for technology upgrades to enhance the comfort of physicians and patients.

After the ablation procedure, LockeT assists in accelerated patient recovery. The device contributes to the optimal healing of percutaneous wounds by exerting pressure on the loosely tied, figure-of-eight suture to achieve immediate hemostasis. LockeT, which features a saucer-like design with accessible side ports and an adjustable knob, eliminates the need for manual application of pressure on the wound.

This suture retention device shortens the patient’s journey from the cathlab to the recovery area and makes it easier for suture removal, allowing for quick ambulation and same-day discharge.

“LockeT offers ease of use for healthcare providers, comfort for patients, and expedites recovery times, facilitating same-day discharges,” says Jenkins.

LockeT’s capability to cover and heal two percutaneous entry points with a single unit results in significant cost savings for healthcare institutions. The suture retention device, which costs $150 per unit, is an affordable and effective alternative for hospitals in comparison to competitive products that only cover one wound at a time.

Empowering Hospitals to Save Lives

CPI has successfully completed its preliminary 125-patient observational study for VIVO and is set to initiate comparative studies.
