As an instance, Carrs Welding welded permanent magnets into a device with a fully fused weld. The permanent magnet was a coin-shaped that was welded, ensuring that the magnet would remain in the device irrespective of any imbalance caused. Carrs Welding has been working on this project and is eager to see it get past the next round of clinical trials and onto the next stage.

On another note, Carrs Welding and Brunel University London have been awarded a grant from Innovate UK to carry out an R&D project on ultrasonic-assisted laser welding to significantly improve and facilitate the welding of electric vehicle battery packs.
